I am a MSD student studying Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Essex. I’m currently researching the role of character in the talent identification process; character development and the identification and definition of key athlete characteristics associated with team performance. From this, I aim to develop a questionnaire that will aid coaches in the identification of athletes with desirable psychological characteristics.

I graduated in 2019 with a first class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Essex, specialising in performance analysis of elite youth rugby players. Outside of research, I enjoy all things rugby spending my time volunteering as an RFU Gamefinder, running a touch rugby team and occasionally enjoying a post match orange juice.

I hope my research will have a meaningful impact on those participating in sports by providing coaches with a tool to improve the effectiveness of talent identification programmes.
